Thanks to your support, Misha completed a course of 50 classes on speech development and began to speak more clearly.

A four-year-old boy has not heard anything since birth. And it was only the cochlear implants installed a year ago that helped Misha hear the world for the first time. But this is not enough for the development of speech and its understanding. Even classes with a speech pathologist were not enough, which the parents immediately began to take their son to. To talk to a child who was correctly diagnosed only at the age of 3, a special in-depth course with a sign language therapist, speech therapist, neuropsychologist and other specialists was required. You helped pay for this course for Misha.

"My son learned a lot: he began to pronounce the "s" sound correctly, began to understand the spoken speech better, and build communication. He began to speak more in sentences and his vocabulary was enriched. I want to thank everyone for their help! It's nice that you understand the importance of developing speech in deaf children. Misha still has a lot of classes ahead aimed at consolidating all speech skills after such a breakthrough: weekly lessons with a speech therapist and a sign language teacher continue. And, of course, homework with my mom on special manuals that were recommended during the course.

"We don't have time to wait for the speech to start on its own. We need to work hard to catch up with our peers," Natalia continues.

Misha underwent cochlear implantation. He needs auditory-speech rehabilitation to start speaking

Last summer Misha underwent a cochlear implantation so that he could start hearing. Now the boy is learning to speak, and a course of auditory-verbal rehabilitation at a specialized center will help him to do so.

Until the age of three, Misha only shouted the “a” sound. He didn't react to his name, he turned around only if he tapped his foot on the floor. Parents realized years later: Misha did not hear the knock, but caught the vibration. But despite all the strange behavior, the child was put not hearing loss, but autistic disorder. We went to all of them - neurologist, psychologist. The last place we went was to a surgeon. Then it became clear that Misha did not speak and did not react because he could not hear.

First we bought hearing aids, then we got a cochlear implant under a quota and started to make up for lost time. Classes with a speech pathologist, a psychologist, adaptive physical training and speech therapy - every day of Mishin's life is scheduled to the minute. He has already started speaking with separate words and short sentences, which makes him incredibly happy. But the boy's active vocabulary is still small, not all sounds are given to him.

The doctors are unanimous: Misha needs to go to a specialized center. Even one course of auditory-verbal rehabilitation will help him to speak.
