In June, we will send a large batch of aid to the Tver region - 2,500 kg of clothes and shoes. More than a thousand people are waiting for this shipment: large and low-income families, elderly people, people with disabilities, homeless people. For them, good clothes are not about fashion, but about basic safety.
Clothes are about warmth, comfort and safety. It gives a child something to wear to school, an elderly person something to wear when leaving the house to go to the clinic or grocery shopping, and an adult something to wear when going to a job interview. It's a simple but important support that helps people cope, maintain their dignity and move on.
For clothes to really help, they need to be sorted properly. The clothes need to be clean, dry, seasonal and in the right size. That's why we're raising money to pay for a sorter, the person who directly determines whether families get the clothes they need.
The sorter manually sorts through hundreds of kilograms of clothes so that every pair of shoes and every sweater can be handed over with the confidence that they will be worn, not thrown away. This is painstaking, important and discreet work, without which it is impossible to help accurately and truly efficiently.
