The charity foundation Second Wind donates clothes and shoes to those who find themselves in a difficult life situation. One of the Foundation's activities is to help the homeless. In June, we will donate 2,500 kilograms of clothes for homeless people in Moscow. About 1,000 people will benefit from this support.
Clothing for a homeless person is not just a basic need. In summer, it is an opportunity to survive the heat in clean, appropriate clothing, without causing aggression to others and without being ashamed of oneself. It is a chance to go to the clinic, to the employment center, to talk to a social worker or to get a part-time job. It's an opportunity to become visible again and stop being a person who is bypassed.
In order for the clothes to be really useful, they need to be sorted: manually going through them, checking their condition, categorizing them by category, season and size. This is done by a sorter - a person who makes the help accurate and timely. We are now raising funds to pay for her labor.
Support this fundraiser - help make clothing assistance accessible and effective for those living on the streets.
