Maxim is 47 years old, and for almost eight of them he has been courageously fighting multiple myeloma, a malignant tumor that develops from plasma cells. His loved ones are fighting alongside him: his wife Olga, 14-year-old daughter Ulyana, and elderly parents.
“The hardest thing for me is not the pain that multiple myeloma causes, but the inability to be with my family. When I am in the hospital, I am overcome by loneliness, which is difficult to cope with. And of course, it is difficult because I cannot move,” says Maxim.
In May 2025, due to complications, Maxim stopped walking. He needed radiation therapy. Due to the ineffectiveness of the treatment and the fact that all methods available in our country have already been exhausted, a council of doctors prescribed him the targeted drug Talquetamab. The drug can help Maxim go into remission.
All of Maxim's savings have been spent on treatment. His wife is forced to work two jobs to provide for the family.
