Alexei was examined by a neuro-urologist

Alexei was born with a diagnosis of spina bifida. Because of this diagnosis, the boy can only move around in a wheelchair. But in addition to motor limitations, people with spina bifida have impaired kidney and bladder function. That is why it is so important to undergo a comprehensive urodynamic examination on a regular, annual basis, to monitor whether the kidneys are functioning properly and to adjust the therapy in time. The entire examination lasts two hours and does not require hospitalization. The doctor-neurologist Galina Tischenko had done all the necessary manipulations during this time in order to make it clear what kind of disorders of urinary system he has at the moment and what kind of corrections they need. The doctor also said that Alexei was an adult, so he could place a catheter to drain the urine, which could not come out by itself (if you do not place the catheter, the residual urine is thrown back into the kidneys, which could lead to their failure). And then she taught Alexei how to self-catheterize. And that means that now Alexey will be independent throughout the day!
