Nikita has made a huge leap forward!

A year ago Nikita "broke down" in the cervical spine and was completely immobilized. During this time, he managed to restore many functions. In order for progress to continue, Nikita needs a rehabilitation course.

Turning his head from side to side was the only thing Nikita, 14, could do after another pair of trainees fell on him, a promising SAMBO athlete. The tracheostomy (after the operation, pulmonary edema began) prevented the boy from speaking: he communicated with his mother and the staff only by eye movement. The doctors didn't even give 1% for Nikita to be able to get back on his feet one day.

But once in the rehabilitation center in Moscow, Nikita felt a prick in his forearm on the fourth day of classes! Gradually, sensitivity began to return to the whole body. After 40 days, Nikita was sitting in a wheelchair, tied down so as not to fall. Now he is learning to eat on his own, to hold a pen in his hand. And it stands with support!

These successes are given to Nikita at the cost of incredible efforts. He works with specialists for many hours a day, seven days a week. His T-shirt can be squeezed out of sweat, and Nikita's eyes sometimes get tears from pain. But the guy is a real athlete. He says he won't give up until he gets back on his feet. Even on vacation, he refused to leave the rehabilitation center and take a break. His dream is not just to come home on his own two feet, but also to return to sports. And also – to support the guys who got into the same trouble by their example.

But for now, Nikita himself needs support. His closest goal is to learn how to move from a bed to a wheelchair or chair on his own. Doctors say Nikita has every chance of going soon. But for this, it is important not to give up rehabilitation – alas, expensive. Nikita's mother cannot afford to continue treatment on her own. But she is sure that her son will get up and thank everyone. Let's help, friends!
