The dog Alice is 11 years old, seven of which she spent in a shelter for homeless animals. The food for older dogs is no longer a whim, but a vital necessity for her. Her joints are showing signs, her hearing is not as sharp and she does not go for long walks anymore.
As part of the Shelter Assistance program, Found "The Loving Dogs" is launching the Special Animals - Special Foods project. Its purpose is to support the well-being of dogs and cats who are kept in shelters and require therapeutic or preventive nutrition for health reasons. The food is primarily intended for dogs and cats with digestive and kidney problems, allergies, and for food necessary to care for young (up to six months old) and senior pets. Unfortunately, the food provided to shelters contains the minimum essential nutrients, but cannot take into account the special needs of sick or weakened animals.
Alice is not the only person in our care, whose health and life depend on nutrition. We care for animals in 4 municipal and 24 private animal shelters. The project includes the purchase of special food for the whole month for 45 dogs and cats from shelters.
Homeless does not mean left without help!
Let's help cats and dogs stay healthy while living in a shelter.
