In December 2025, ten-year-old Yana suffered a massive hemorrhagic stroke due to a ruptured arteriovenous malformation. This was followed by hydrocephalus, a recurrent stroke, and numerous surgeries. To date, the girl has undergone eight brain surgeries and two abdominal surgeries. She remains shunt-dependent, and her condition requires constant medical monitoring.
The consequences of the strokes are severe: Yana walks only with support, cannot climb stairs, and suffers from visual, speech, memory, and swallowing impairments, as well as daily vomiting. To recover, she requires a rehabilitation program including physical therapy, kinesiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, neuropsychology, physical therapy, and massage.
The mother is raising Yana and her youngest son alone, and the family cannot afford treatment.
Before her illness, Yana participated in gymnastics, swimming, and equestrian sports, and she loved singing and drawing. Rehabilitation will help Yana regain lost skills and bring her closer to independent living. Please support this fundraiser!
