Sofia has Cerebral Palsy: help the girl undergo a rehabilitation course!
Sofia was born in 2021 at 27 weeks of pregnancy via emergency C-section due to placental abruption. Her birth weight was 1,150 g, and her Apgar score was 5/6. The girl was diagnosed with bronchopulmonary dysplasia, cerebral hypoxia and ischemia, grade II intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH), brain hemorrhage, and dilated lateral ventricles. Sofia underwent mechanical ventilation and blood transfusion.
By the age of two, an MRI revealed changes in the cerebrospinal fluid spaces and damage to the corpus callosum; at 2.5 years old, a neurologist diagnosed her with Cerebral Palsy.
Currently, Sofia has severe deformity and a joint subluxation. Despite this, she has learned to speak, crawls on her belly, stands in a standing frame, and dreams of learning to crawl on all fours and walk independently. To preserve the joint, strengthen her muscles, and gain new skills, Sofia needs regular physical therapy (PT) and massage sessions.
Let's work together to help the family cover the cost of this vital rehabilitation course!
