Shukrona is two years old. She is a very calm, kind, and smiling girl. She loves to play with a ball and stuffed animals. Despite her vision problems, Shukrona is growing up inquisitive and bold, speaks well, and delights her parents with her achievements every day.
When Shukrona was just over two months old, she was diagnosed with a severe form of retinopathy of prematurity. The disease has led to significant changes in her eyes, and since then, she has undergone four surgeries.
Shukrona now needs surgery. During such ophthalmological surgeries, doctors correct changes inside the eye that interfere with the normal functioning of the retina and preserve the anatomy and visual function of the eye as much as possible.
The parents are doing everything they can for their daughter, but they cannot afford the surgery themselves.
