Two-year-old Magomed cannot eat properly and suffocates in his sleep. Due to an underdeveloped lower jaw, the root of his tongue shifts backward and blocks his throat.

His condition can be corrected with several surgeries. But the first step is the most important—restoring his breathing. Surgeons will install distraction devices that will gradually move his jaw forward, freeing his airway.
