This summer, five children from Starobaltachevo were left without their mother. The eldest, Almaz, is only 21 years old, but now he is doing everything he can to ensure that his younger brothers and little sister do not end up in an orphanage. Together with his wife, Dinara, he is arranging for guardianship. Almaz himself has a one-year-old daughter, and his little sister was recently diagnosed with cancer. Currently, seven people are temporarily living with Dinara’s parents—by agreement with the guardianship authorities until the work is completed.
Thanks to a local foundation, a lot has already been accomplished in the house, but the work is not yet finished. It is necessary to equip a bathroom, clad the house from the outside, build a safe porch, put up a bathhouse, and install a fence around the property. Before the cold weather sets in, the house must be prepared for full-time living. Almaz is doing everything he can: working, building the house, and taking responsibility for his large family. But it is impossible to cope with everything alone.
For this family, renovation is not just a matter of comfort. It is a chance for the children to stay together and live with their brother.
Let’s help Almaz finish the house and keep the family together.
