More than 150 dogs live at the Vita shelter in Yaroslavl. "Vita" was going through difficult times. The pets could stay in their enclosures for months, there was often a shortage of food. There were debts to pay for utilities and the labor of the staff caring for the pets.
In the eleventh year of the shelter's life, a miracle happened: the volunteers banded together to improve the territory and create a comfortable environment for the pets and guests. Resident caregivers and babysitters appeared - full-time employees who take care of the dogs. For more than six months, the pets have had food and regular walks every day, the cages have become clean, and sawdust is changed regularly.
Volunteers and staff are now preparing to build new enclosures. A designer and landscaper are involved and a work plan has been drawn up. One of the stages is the dismantling of the old aviaries and landscaping. We need an electric saw for sawing down the branches and sawing the boards and a trimmer for the construction of new enclosures. The shelter does not have its own tools yet, so Fidelity and volunteers are looking for resources to do the work faster and better.
