Shamil and other children studied with an art therapist for five months and held a joint exhibition of their works!

Art therapy is a way for children and young adults with special needs to experience their emotions, socialize, and develop themselves. Not everyone can directly say that they need help, but this can be expressed through drawings, modeling, and music. The foundation regularly conducts art therapy courses for wards: an art therapist visits the home, assesses the children’s physical capabilities and what they can do. In February there is an interim exhibition where everyone presents their work, which is available for purchase. So, through art therapy, the children will be able to earn their own living. One of our students, 22-year-old Shamil, discovered his talent as an artist thanks to art therapy courses. He makes original drawings in unexpected color combinations and is ready to spend all his time on art. The previously shy Shamil now feels much more confident, it is easier for him to communicate with people, and art has become the real meaning of life for him. And more recently, together with his mother, he mastered the weaving loom and makes charming rugs, including for sale. For four months of the project, we need 106,700 rubles; this amount covers the wages of the art therapist and consumables.
