Ulyana has received bandages and medicines to protect her skin!

6-month-old Ulyana enthusiastically twirls in her hands any objects she can reach. It is a little more difficult for her to hold them than for other babies: her entire hand is covered with a bandage like a glove - each finger separately, because Uli has epidermolysis bullosa (EB), a rare genetic skin disease. People with this disease have skin so delicate and fragile that any touch leads to the appearance of blisters, which burst and turn into wounds. The dressings protect Ulya from injury and from a serious, frequent complication of EB – mitten-type fusion of the fingers. If this happens, the girl will not be able to use her hands normally and will need surgery to separate her fingers. The Butterfly Children Foundation helps patients with EB by providing them with the necessary bandages, bandages and skin care products. Ordinary bandages are not suitable for patients like Ulya, as they rub the skin and cause new damage. In addition, they stick to wounds. The baby needs atraumatic dressings, special super-soft elastic bandages, sterile meshes and much more - this is the only way she will live without pain, grow and develop normally.
