Stepan is 10 years old. His diagnosis is acute myeloid leukemia. It is a malignant disease of the blood and bone marrow. Stepan got sick when he was very young. The diagnosis that was made at first was primary immunodeficiency. Little Stepan was given a transfusion of blood and platelets, a course of therapy began, but it did not get better. Then the boy and his mother went to Moscow. Having undergone another course of examinations, the doctors made a new diagnosis - acute myeloid leukemia.
Then Stepa began to fight for life again: he underwent a course of chemotherapy and bone marrow transplantation. But all this greatly weakened the boy's immune system. In order to keep all the indicators in the body normal, he needs every two months to undergo a course of supportive therapy, which consists in the fact that the patient is injected with immunoglobulins - these are special proteins that replace a person's own antibodies, which are lacking in the body.
Stepa has already undergone a hard and long treatment, now he has the opportunity to live like his peers. But to do so, he needs to constantly take maintenance medication. The necessary drug was usually issued by the Department of Health, but now they haven't received it yet. Therapy cannot be interrupted otherwise Stepa's body becomes susceptible to any diseases that can become fatal. We need 1 pack of medication per course of treatment.
