We are building a specialized center for 350 children with mental and physical developmental disabilities. These children are not accepted into other institutions, and they wait in line for several years to get into our center. We are already teaching 273 pupils at the day center and cannot accommodate more due to limited space.
At the moment we are experiencing difficulties in the existing center. We are located in a 4-story building and on the ground floor there are only a few classes in which students in wheelchairs study. We cannot accept more children with cerebral palsy because we do not have an elevator and there is no way to take pupils to the upper floors. These children also need regular swimming lessons. We take them on school shifts to the pool, which can only accommodate 6-7 children.
In addition to classrooms, the new center will have workshops for pre-vocational training, a swimming pool, a large playground, and a greenhouse. We will be able to accommodate all children in wheelchairs.
