Thank you for helping Ksyusha! The operation to replace the shunt took place and was performed as an emergency. Funds for the shunt were raised by 70% when Xyusha's headaches increased. The shunt was urgently paid for and placed in KDKB, in the department of neurosurgery.

Now Xenia feels well: no headaches, no tantrums and tears, she is sleeping well. Xenia herself does not walk, does not speak, but perceives communication, but very much likes to listen to music. Ksyusha and her mother take daily walks, and when the weather is good, they walk for 2-3 hours.

On December 2 Xenia turned 11 years old. Xenia is a very smiling girl. Before the last surgery, her mom had fears that her daughter would lose all emotions as a consequence of the surgery, she was afraid of complications. But all emotions in Xenia were preserved. And when she is in a good mood, she laughs like all the girls.

Ksyusha needs surgery to replace her shunt!

Ksyusha was born prematurely - at 30-31 weeks with a weight of just under 1.5 kg. The girl recovered quickly: in less than a month the mother and Ksyusha were already discharged home. When the baby was about six months old, doctors noticed an increase in the volume of the head and assumed that Xyusha has hydrocephalus.

The whole month mom Marina and her daughter passed doctors, took tests and were on different examinations. The first operation on installation of a shunt Xyusha had at the age of 7 months. A month after the operation the girl started to have epilepsy. The seizures were very strong. While treating epilepsy - the shunt stopped working properly, so Xyusha was urgently laid on the operating table, where she again underwent surgery to replace the pump and the location of the shunt. Life began to get better: Xyusha began to smile again, and the drug for epilepsy was suitable - the girl went into remission. And so 7 years passed.

Ksyusha grew up and it was time to change the shunt again. Everything went well, but after a while she began to have a headache, vomiting attacks, drowsiness, and again an epilepsy attack. The doctors decided to install a modern programmable shunt for Xenia, but its cost is too high, so the family appealed to the Foundation for help in buying a shunt. Please help Xenia to feel only joy in life again, not pain.
