With your help, Ksyusha had an emergency shunt replacement and is now doing well

Ksyusha was born prematurely - at 30-31 weeks with a weight of just under 1.5 kg. The girl recovered quickly: in less than a month the mother and Ksyusha were already discharged home. When the baby was about six months old, doctors noticed an increase in the volume of the head and assumed that Xyusha has hydrocephalus. The whole month mom Marina and her daughter passed doctors, took tests and were on different examinations. The first operation on installation of a shunt Xyusha had at the age of 7 months. A month after the operation the girl started to have epilepsy. The seizures were very strong. While treating epilepsy - the shunt stopped working properly, so Xyusha was urgently laid on the operating table, where she again underwent surgery to replace the pump and the location of the shunt. Life began to get better: Xyusha began to smile again, and the drug for epilepsy was suitable - the girl went into remission. And so 7 years passed. Ksyusha grew up and it was time to change the shunt again. Everything went well, but after a while she began to have a headache, vomiting attacks, drowsiness, and again an epilepsy attack. The doctors decided to install a modern programmable shunt for Xenia, but its cost is too high, so the family appealed to the Foundation for help in buying a shunt.
