Gauhar successfully underwent retinal reinforcement surgery

Dear Tubers! We are pleased to share with you the results of ophthalmological operations performed on Gauhar eyes in October last year. The girl has retinopathy of prematurity of the fifth degree. This is the most severe form of the disease. Significant damage to the retina can occur at this stage, which often leads to blindness. The retina is a thin light—sensitive membrane located on the back of the eye. It plays a key role in vision. If detachment has begun, surgical intervention is required. The eye is a very complex multicomponent structure. It is impossible to estimate how much time and operations it will take to repair the damaged parts. Thanks to the performed operations, it was possible to stop the complete detachment of the retina. It is partially fixed and holds onto the vitreous body. There is a possibility that subsequent procedures can attach the membrane in such a way that it performs its functions. The operations were successful, without complications. However, the girl was hospitalized not on schedule, but ten days later due to a cold. A follow-up examination is scheduled for the end of March to determine the tactics of further treatment of such a complex eye disease as Gauhar's.
