Twelve-year-old Aisha is now studying at school, winning prizes at regional karate competitions and dreaming of becoming a doctor. But at any moment her full-fledged life may be threatened - Aisha has a genetic breakdown of immunity.
There are six children in the large Mukhametshin family. Four, including Aisha, have been passed on from their mother with a dangerous mutation that requires constant monitoring and surveillance. The Sunflower Foundation has already helped the family to buy expensive tickets from Tyumen to Moscow to the Institute of Immunology. There, the children underwent important genetic tests and received an accurate diagnosis, which allowed them to choose the right treatment.
Dozens of people with severe immune disorders need the help of doctors. All of them need to come to the capital's medical centers for checkups every six months or even more often. Children and adults live thousands of kilometers away from Moscow and simply cannot get to a doctor who knows how to treat them - tickets to the capital are too expensive.
