On Vasilievsky Island, in a very ordinary house, there is a not so ordinary apartment. Everything here is made for the convenience of people who move around in wheelchairs, there is a place for friendly meetings and various activities. For two years now, this has been a cozy home for six people with severe disabilities and mental disabilities, whom Perspektivy helped to start a new, independent life. Most of them moved here from a psychoneurological boarding house. Every day, the wards are supported and accompanied by the organization's employees.
One of the residents of the apartment is Vitaliy. Previously, he lived in a boarding house, where in 2001 Perspektivy opened an art studio. Here Vitaliy managed to reveal his creative gift. Now he is a successful modern artist and poet, his paintings are exhibited in museums in Russia and abroad, three collections of poems with illustrations by the author have been published. People around him say that after the move, Vitaliy has become calmer, more relaxed, laughs and jokes more often. In a new life, at home, almost every day is busy with something interesting.
Today the project needs your support. The funds will go to pay for the work of a social worker — a specialist who is always there and strives to make the lives of the wards bright and full, helps with hygiene, in everyday life, on trips.
