Every day, cats and dogs arrive at the animal shelter with serious injuries, in critical condition, where the count is counted in minutes. These cases require not only the experienced hands of veterinarians, but also special equipment to help save lives here and now.
The Foundation is launching a fundraiser to purchase central venous catheter kits, large vessel catheterization kits and Ambu bags for manual ventilation. These tools are critical to the emergency care and rescue of ponytail patients.
Central venous catheters and vascular catheterization kits are used in the most severe cases where an animal requires intensive care for accurate and rapid administration of medications, especially in cases of shock, dehydration or blood loss. The Ambu bag is a hand-held breathing apparatus, it is used in respiratory arrest to provide oxygen to the lungs and helps to keep the ponytail patient alive until the condition stabilizes.
The Foundation is raising funds to purchase 10 central venous catheter kits, 5 Seldinger large vessel catheterization kits and 3 Ambu bags for manual ventilation. With your support, this equipment will become part of our daily work, helping to save animals' lives!
