Cancer treatment is carried out according to special medical protocols developed by scientists from different countries, including Russia, and includes chemotherapy and radiation therapy. This is the main treatment. But there is also accompanying therapy: this includes numerous drugs, without which the success of the main treatment would be impossible. These are drugs of various effects: anti-emetic, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, immunotherapy drugs and others.
The Foundation's “Help to the Hospital” program allows the oncohematology department of the Children's Regional Hospital to pay for expensive drugs, medical equipment and consumables that help children bear painful procedures more easily.
Now the oncohematology department needs the consumable drug TauroLock Solution. Children are usually treated with a long venous catheter. It is placed for a long period of time. The child can walk with it for up to six months, and with it the child can go home for a while and see loved ones. Thanks to this, it is possible not to give the child a shot every time for drips and tests. Changing the catheter every time is very expensive, and most importantly, painful for the child. TauroLock solution is needed to treat the catheter. The solution reliably prevents the formation of bacterial biofilms inside the catheters. Patients can therefore avoid infections and contamination.
Now 20 packs of the solution are needed, which is enough for six months for 100 children in the ward.
