Erica's speech became clearer and clearer

Four-year-old Erika heard her parents for the first time a year ago: she was fitted with a cochlear implant. Now the girl needs to learn to speak properly. And for this she needs auditory-verbal rehabilitation in a specialized center, which is too expensive for the family. In the first year of her life, Erika did not hum at all like other children and did not immediately pay attention to the rattle. She reacted only when the toy came into her field of vision. It was to this feature of the daughter immediately drew the attention of her mother. Soon doubts were replaced by anxiety: Erika is not awakened neither by loud conversations nor by a knock on the door. Examination revealed a lack of hearing. Last winter the girl was fitted with a cochlear implant. With this implant, many sounds entered Erica's life - from the voices of her mom, dad and sisters to the sound of water running in the faucet, the hum of cars and the squeak of snow underfoot. During a year of lessons with her mom, Erica has made good progress in her speech development. The child's vocabulary has reached 150 words, she even tries to speak in phrases and almost does not use gestures to explain that she wants to drink water or play. But, unfortunately, it is impossible to catch up in the development of her peers with only lessons with her mother and speech therapist. That's why in her four years Erika is like a 2-year-old child. To “grow up” and make up for lost time, she needs professional auditory rehabilitation.
