Muhammad Ali was born in February a year ago with a serious heart defect. A thorough cardiological examination revealed multiple holes in the internal septa of the heart, and blood from the pulmonary artery freely flowed into the aorta, which should not happen.
This happens in newborn babies, but it naturally corrects itself in the first days after birth. If this does not happen, they resort to surgical intervention. This did not happen to Muhammad Ali - the boy barely moved, got tired from the slightest movements, turned blue, breathed with difficulty, and barely ate.
To preserve the baby's health, a tactic of gradual elimination of heart defects was chosen. In March, a so-called palliative operation was performed to narrow the pulmonary artery. It helped. The boy came to life a little, began to recover, gain weight, show activity and interest in the world around him. In a few months, they planned to finally eliminate all heart defects.
After a follow-up examination six months after the first operation, the cardiac surgeons decided to wait a little with the operation. The condition of little Muhammad Ali allowed it, and there was a chance to do without it.
The optimistic expectations that the holes would heal naturally this year did not come true. The boy will have a second operation in the near future.
Let's take care of Muhammad Ali and contribute to his recovery.
