"Faster, higher, stronger" - that has been the motto of ten-year-old Sasha since childhood. Athletics, hockey, chess - sports occupy the main place in the boy's life. But the diagnosis made in March 2020: conventional osteosarcoma of the left femur (malignant bone tumor) deprives the boy of his favorite sport.
Sasha has steadfastly passed the main treatment: courses of chemotherapy, a complex surgery to remove the tumor along with the affected bones and installation of an endoprosthesis.
The sport exercises strengthened his character and taught him not to give up, he is gradually returning to normal life. And the dream to go back to sports helps to continue the necessary treatment.
Every three weeks the boy and his mother fly to Moscow, where a special magnetic apparatus is used to stretch out the endoprosthesis which was set in place of the removed femur bone - it is responsible for the growth of his leg. In order not to traumatize the muscles, it is allowed to stretch only 5 mm once a month. There is no necessary equipment in Ufa, and help is only available in Moscow.
Sasha's parents cannot afford to pay the plane tickets any longer, because all the resources have been spent on the treatment, travel, and accommodation. The boy has a large family, his brother Dinar is 7 years old, and his sister Farida is 5. The family, more than a year can work only dad.
We will help Sasha to come to rehabilitation in time, so the endoprosthesis could take root, and the boy could confidently walk through life, towards new personal victories!
