Adolescence is a difficult period when personality is formed, values are established, and the first serious relationships are built. But for many, this is a time of loneliness, anxiety, and misunderstanding. It is especially difficult for those who grew up without a family or faced difficulties in a foster family.
Andrey is 12 years old, of which he has lived in a foster family for 1.5 years. After moving and changing schools, he began to have serious problems with adaptation: aggression, hysterics, isolation. His parents did not understand what was happening, because before he was friendly and open. Group sessions with a psychologist taught Andrey to interact with his peers. As a result, the boy made friends, he became calmer, more confident, and his relationships with his family and school improved.
There are many teenagers like Andrey, and they all need help and support. We are raising funds for group sessions with a psychologist, which will help teenagers from foster families understand themselves, learn to manage emotions, cope with anxiety, resolve conflicts, and build trusting relationships.
An experienced psychologist will work with them in the format of open discussions, practical exercises and trainings to give teenagers tools for communication and adaptation.
