What adults with intellectual disabilities can do in a carpentry workshop:
Denis repairs stools, carefully gluing and screwing the legs back in place. In his hands, things become whole again and serve for many years. Varvara saws and sands the pieces for the mosaic, then burns designs onto keychains. Everything is neat, precise, and beautiful! Borya drills holes for hooks and practices sawing with a guide, which requires incredible precision and patience.
In our carpentry workshop, adults with mental disabilities learn new skills and create incredible things with their hands. It’s always noisy here, with the smell of wood, focus, and responsibility in the air. We are proud of how the participants master various woodworking techniques, develop their skills, and build confidence.
Right now, we really need more equipment and supplies. Every donation you make is a step towards helping the participants continue to learn carpentry, improve their skills, and most importantly, believe in themselves.
