Last year, Azim, 26, from Tashkent, felt ill and went to a clinic, where he received an unexpected diagnosis of acute myeloblastic leukemia.
Medication treatment for the cancer had not yielded positive results. The only thing that can save the young man now is a bone marrow transplant. Such operations are not done in his native Uzbekistan.
That's why Azim came to Moscow and is waiting for a transplant. His younger sister will be his donor.
Blood cancer is a dangerous disease which requires immediate treatment. Unfortunately, the family cannot afford to pay for the operation, which is urgently needed by the pride and pet of the family.
Azim is a very intelligent and educated man. He graduated with honors from school and university and before his illness worked as an inspector in the Republican Prosecutor's Office. Because of the diagnosis he had to postpone his dream of studying in Austria, but he hopes to fulfill it after his recovery.
The young man has many talents: he plays chess and has won international tournaments, he knows English very well. When he is in the hospital, Azim speaks English with the medical staff, as he doesn't speak Russian very well.
He has a lot of plans for the future and we can be a reason to realize them. Let's help Azim pass the difficult test and do even more good for the world and people!
