The Second Breath Foundation plans to send 8,850kg of clothes and shoes to the Kostroma region. This is humanitarian aid for families with disabled children, large and poor families, as well as young and pregnant mothers. 2950 people - children and their parents - are waiting for support. And this help should not stop.
Our lorries will deliver necessary things to 16 towns and villages. Such support is especially important there, because there is no possibility to buy inexpensive children's clothes or exchange them with other parents. In such places, Assistance Centres are the only way to provide the child with everything he or she needs.
There are times when a mother is left alone with three babies. Sometimes the children or older relatives are ill. Sometimes you have to choose between buying outerwear and children's uniforms for competitions. Clothes and shoes for a growing child are a big expense in a family. Our reality is that in Russia, 13.4% of families with children cannot afford to buy new clothes (Rosstat, 2023).
Fundraising will help pay for the cost of renting the Foundation's Sorting Centre, as well as the labour costs of the sorters and movers who manually select items and form parcels. Donations will also help to pay part of the logistics costs between Moscow and Kostroma region. All this will help to support people in difficult life situations.
Your support will start a chain of assistance to large, low-income and single-parent families, families with children with disabilities and in socially dangerous situations - and 2950 people will receive things that will help them survive difficult times.
