Fatima was born prematurely, in the 29th week of pregnancy. On the fifth day after birth, she suffered a haemorrhage, which led to the development of hydrocephalus. At the age of three months, the girl was fitted with a shunt to compensate for the hydrocephalus, which caused brain damage, resulting in cerebral palsy and developmental delays. Now Fatima is five years old. She cannot walk and talk independently, but her family does not lose hope. The girl regularly does therapeutic physical training, works with a speech therapist-defectologist and visits the swimming pool. With each course of rehabilitation she moves forward with small steps, but, unfortunately, cerebral palsy requires constant efforts and lessons. With the help of all concerned people, Fatima's parents hope to complete several rehabilitation courses in order to learn new skills and bring closer the day when the girl will be able to walk and talk independently.
