Samira is 8 years old, she has delayed speech development and an autism spectrum disorder. By the age of 1.5, parents began to notice that the baby was lagging behind in development. She did not respond to requests, did not respond to the name and did not look into the eyes.
First of all, the behavioral analyst conducted testing to establish the current level of the child's academic, communication, and social skills and barriers associated with undesirable behavior (VB-MAPP testing). An individual training program was developed for Samira to develop the girl's skills.
Thanks to the lessons, the girl began to understand spoken language and follow instructions, and onomatopoeia began to develop. There are also successes in the conscious pronunciation of sounds and simple words of two or three syllables. After studying with an adaptive sports instructor and a sensory integration specialist, Samira began to develop a sense of balance, she learned how to work out on simulators, climb stairs, throw a ball, follow instructions with an object, and even several instructions at the same time.
Samira also underwent a course of hyperbaric oxygen therapy during her rehabilitation. The use of hardware procedures certainly helped to improve the girl's speech and cognitive abilities.
