Beksultan was born in the 33rd week of pregnancy. The newborn was first nursed in intensive care, and then in a regular ward. Due to his premature birth, he could only breathe with the help of a ventilator.
When the boy's condition stabilized, he was discharged home. However, the problems did not end there.
At 4 months, Beksultan was diagnosed with retinopathy of prematurity stage V with total retinal detachment in both eyes. It is extremely difficult to preserve vision in such a situation - a series of high-tech operations is required.
The eyes grow with the body, and pathological changes progress.
The operations performed allowed to preserve the right eye and residual light perception. Despite the detached retina, doctors are cautiously optimistic about the possible improvement of vision. The left eye, which has completely lost its sight, was replaced with a cosmetic prosthesis to improve the child's quality of life.
In the coming months, Beksultan needs to go to St. Petersburg for examination and further treatment.
The boy is a foreigner, and his treatment is paid for. The family cannot cover the costs of travel and medical procedures on their own.
Let's support Beksultan and help pay for his treatment!
