Asima had a skull operation!

Asima is one and a half years old. This charming, active, smiling little girl was diagnosed with abnormal skull development at three months, and this can have negative consequences, such as developmental delays and cognitive impairment. Increased pressure inside the skull can cause serious neurological problems: epilepsy and hydrocephalus. Asima's sutures between the skull bones began to grow together at three months. The girl had to undergo surgery: the bones were moved apart with special incisions. Such an intervention is possible in infancy, while the bones are still soft and flexible. Everything went well, but in early March, a CT scan showed that the bones had grown together again. A second operation is needed. And in two months - another one to remove the plates. Asima is from Kazakhstan. There are seven children in the family, besides Asima. The father works at a mining and processing plant, the mother teaches chemistry at school.
