Butai has delayed speech development and an autism spectrum disorder. By the age of 2, the boy had no speech, he walked in circles and did not pay attention to others. Now Butai is 13 years old, he partially understands the spoken language, and eye contact has appeared. But he lacks coherent speech, pronounces only individual words.
During the classes, active work was carried out to establish cooperation and leadership control. Butai studied new motivational stimuli and even learned how to ask for them in words, learned the sequence "first-then", follow two- and three-component instructions, and select specific subjects by their names from a number.
The boy has also made progress in the development of social and gaming skills. He learned to play games with other people (while with teachers), for example, bingo and dominoes. Now Butai knows how to wait his turn, give away the necessary item for the game, he has become better and calmer to interact with others.
Thanks to sensory integration classes, the boy was able to improve coordination of movements and sensory perception (tactile, auditory, visual). After studying with an adaptive physical education instructor, Butai became much more resilient and disciplined, and his actions became clearer. The boy learned how to pass an obstacle course, perform somersaults and jumps without the help of a trainer, and he also worked out on various simulators.
