15-year-old Assia has been fighting skin diseases, allergies, and digestive complications all her life. From an early age, the girl went through multiple hospitalizations and outpatient treatment courses, but for a long time it was not possible to establish an accurate diagnosis. It was not until 2023, after consultations with specialists and a follow-up examination in Moscow, that Assia was finally diagnosed with ichthyosis. This is a rare genetic disease in which the skin is unable to retain moisture properly - it is very dry, flaky and prone to cracks, which causes pain and provokes excruciating itching. Assia needs daily multi-stage care: moisturizers, mild cleansers, special ointments. Without them, the girl's quality of life deteriorates dramatically. Assia is now a ward of the Butterfly Children Foundation. Her condition is much better, but it is possible to maintain the achieved result only with regular care. It is difficult for parents to provide their daughter with all the necessary means: ichthyosis requires daily procedures and high consumption of expensive products.
