Sasha, 6, needs a comfortable wheelchair designed especially for children with cerebral palsy.
The child's life journey got off to a very difficult start.
The boy was born prematurely, weighing only 1470 grams, with bilateral pneumonia, septicaemia and a brain haemorrhage.
He spent the first 23 days of his life in intensive care, 9 of them on a ventilator.
His mother says: "It wasn't until he was 1.5 months old that we were discharged home with a host of all sorts of diagnoses. From that moment on we started endless visits to doctors and medical examinations.
Diagnosed with cerebral palsy, Sasha underwent many rehabilitation courses. It was a victory that he began to talk, crawl, and sit for a short time without support.
It is important to keep on treating him! In order to travel to the rehabilitation centres and even for walks, Sasha needs a comfortable wheelchair that properly supports his paralysed body.
The boy has retained his intellect. He is very kind and smiling. He likes to play with cars, watch cartoons and listen to stories. He's a big storyteller himself. He comes up with stories and characters as he goes along. To date he can count to 10. Learns the alphabet.
