Thanks to you, social case managers support people with severe disabilities living in residential institution

Thanks to your support, we were able to fund the essential work of social case managers who support 120 beneficiaries of Perspektivy every day – people with multiple disabilities living at the SSH “Petergof” (Psychoneurological Residential Institution №3). To ensure that people with severe disabilities in residential institutions are not left alone and can feel care and warmth, they are supported by social case managers. These specialists monitor the health of the people they support, protect their interests and rights, organize celebrations and leisure activities, and accompany them to workshops and classes. They also help them experience life beyond the walls of the institution, assist with obtaining an individual rehabilitation plan, and make sure that each person has suitable assistive equipment, such as wheelchairs, walkers, and other aids. If some of our beneficiaries were able to speak, this is what they would say about their social case managers: “Next to Oksana, I always feel calm. We often attend music sessions, and Oksana spends a lot of time with me. Recently, she gave me a toy. I used to be frightened by the sounds it makes when you press it, but when I hear them together with my social case manager, they make me happy. Oksana also often wipes and washes my face — I really like this, and it makes me laugh!”
