The charitable foundation «svet.deti» has been helping children and young adults struggling with cancer for 16 years at various stages of treatment and beyond. Families who come to St. Petersburg from different regions often turn to us for help. They travel hundreds, thousands of kilometers for the sole purpose of the child's recovery.
Thanks to the help of those who support the project called «Island» («Ostrov»), we are renting two apartments for temporary residence of the wards, and this year we purchased a third. It is located near the N. P. Napalkov Cancer Center and the N. N. Petrov clinic, where our patients are often treated. The proximity to hospitals will help them quickly get to their apartment after grueling treatment and also arrive on time for the necessary procedures and examinations after completing therapy.
The house is still under construction. It will be rented out around the end of summer, and the first family will be able to move into a new apartment, hopefully in the fall. In order for this to happen, we need your help in purchasing high-quality furniture for multiple use — sofas, beds, cupboards, and more.
