A child diagnosed with spina bifida should definitely have a comprehensive urological examination (CUDI) to correct urological abnormalities. Proper urological care will help the child establish a urinary system routine, give up wearing diapers all the time, and facilitate social adaptation. Delayed and untimely care can lead not only to severe complications in the form of kidney dysfunction, but also to life-threatening consequences for the child.
CUDI is not included in the list of mandatory medical examinations that a child undergoes when a disability is established.
