Ekaterina is 38 years old. She has had type 1 diabetes since childhood, complicated by several severe diseases, including celiac disease. With this diagnosis, gluten, contained in almost all foods, becomes a real poison: it causes inflammation, pain, skin rashes and can trigger new complications. To avoid this, Ekaterina strictly adheres to a gluten-free diet: she bakes her own bread, muffins, cookies, buys special mixes, pasta and flour. But such products are much more expensive than ordinary ones. Ekaterina lives with her mother, cannot work, and in addition to special products, she needs medicines and consumables for medical devices that help her monitor her health.
