Yulia is raising five children. She reached out to the foundation in May 2024 — alone and without any support. Her parents and grandmother have long since passed away. Everything she does, she does on her own, for the sake of her children.
The house where the family lives was purchased using maternity capital. It is now in a state of disrepair: cracks in the walls let in drafts, parts of the floor have collapsed, and the roof leaks. The wiring is faulty, and there was even a fire in one of the rooms. The house is in urgent need of major repairs — something the family cannot afford.
At one point, Yulia managed to do some cosmetic repairs in the kitchen herself: she put up wallpaper, bought furniture, laid down plywood and linoleum. But today, she’s in a situation where she simply cannot cope alone.
The foundation is supporting the family: we’ve provided desks for the children, a sofa, a refrigerator, a gas boiler, and we regularly help with food and clothing. The children have the essentials. But the house remains a dangerous place to live — especially for the little ones.
What Yulia urgently needs is a social coordinator — a specialist who will stand by her side, help with paperwork, liaise with public services, plan the steps out of crisis, and most importantly, be a steady point of support on this difficult journey.
This fundraiser will help us cover 7 months of work for the social worker, who currently supports 12 families in crisis. Thanks to their efforts, many children are able to stay at home with their loved ones — instead of ending up in an orphanage.
