Essential Care Supplies Delivered to Elderly Hospital Patients!

The most vulnerable patients are in the palliative and geriatric departments of hospitals - elderly people who have difficulty getting out of bed. Some ended up here after a stroke, some with a serious diagnosis, some are simply alone, without loved ones. They spend not days, but months within the hospital walls - and sometimes they stay here longer. Hospital staff try to surround such patients with care: they turn them over, wash them, change their clothes, feed them with a spoon. But this requires simple but very important things: diapers, nappies, special foam for washing without water. They help to avoid bedsores, irritations and maintain minimal comfort for those who can no longer take care of themselves. Unfortunately, now there is an acute shortage of such consumables in hospitals again. The fact is that the standards for provision are common for all hospitals, they do not take into account that almost all patients in these departments are bedridden. This means that diapers run out faster than a new batch arrives, and foam is not purchased at all - although it is irreplaceable for caring for a weakened person. Our foundation has been supporting hospitals and departments where elderly patients are admitted for several years. Now we are raising funds to purchase diapers, nappies and washing foam for several St. Petersburg hospitals.
