Aliya finished 4th grade this year. She likes her studies - she studied diligently with the teachers who came to her home. When the weather is good, Aliya goes for walks in an electric wheelchair: she rides it around the yard, plays with her close friend, a classmate, and other children. The girl cannot walk independently, but she quickly got used to riding. Aliya has spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) of the 2nd type, muscles weaken gradually, because of this disease, the child loses skills. Aliya grew older and began to take the disease more calmly. Last year she received Spinraza and after several injections of this preparation she got stronger and became less tired.
Aliya has many plans: she would like to learn English and also learn the basics of programming. In the meantime, Aliya is looking forward to summer, because every year during the vacations she and her sister visit her grandmother in the Ulyanovsk region, and in August it's Aliya's birthday.
Now the girl needs a standing aid - a device with which she can stand. Exercise in it reduces the risk of complications caused by the fact that the child is constantly lying or sitting because of his illness. Aliya's future fifth-grader's schedule will include such a difficult "subject" - she needs to stand in the verticalizer for an hour a day or more.
