Maryam was born with a severe congenital heart defect that requires a series of complex surgical interventions. Her diagnosis includes pulmonary atresia, abnormal origin of the aorta, and an atrial septal defect.
Last year, the «Detskiye Serdza» Foundation helped fund the first surgery, after which Maryam’s condition significantly improved — she began eating well and her complexion became healthier.
Unfortunately, her health has recently deteriorated again. She is experiencing shortness of breath, and doctors have determined that the second operation is urgently needed. However, her family is unable to cover the cost of the procedure. They are from Tajikistan and medical care in Russia is not covered for them. Maryam’s father is the sole provider for a large family, and he works in construction. Every ruble is saved for Maryam’s treatment, but their resources are limited.
Without timely cardiac surgery, Maryam’s heart will not be able to cope with the increasing strain. The operation is vital to give her the opportunity to grow, move, and embrace life with joy.
Maryam has already begun to crawl and displays great curiosity about the world around her. She loves being near other children and delights in listening to fairy tales. She reacts emotionally to sounds — especially to her mother’s voice.
The first part of the funds has already been raised through charitable donations, and her family has managed to save some as well. It remains only a half of the total amount.
Let’s give Maryam the chance to live a full and healthy life. Every donation brings her closer to recovery.
