Ilya had a video EEG monitoring

Ilya is a cheerful 5-year-old boy who has been fighting the consequences of hypoxia and nervous system damage since birth. Due to developmental delays, he started sitting and walking later than usual. Since he was 2 months old, Ilya has had seizures. He is currently under the care of a neurologist with diagnoses of epilepsy and ADHD, and he is monitored by other specialists as well. Ilya is very sociable, especially drawn to adults, and he loves anything that spins—he often “introduces” people to fans and air conditioners. He attends kindergarten for a short time (about an hour a day), but he has difficulty concentrating on play and routine tasks. Ilya needs long-term EEG monitoring—standard short studies do not reveal epileptic activity. This examination will help doctors determine the necessity of continuing antiepileptic therapy and to select the most appropriate treatment.
