Craniosynostosis is a severe congenital disease in which the skull fuses prematurely, blocking the natural development of the brain. Hydrocephalus is a violation of the outflow of cerebrospinal fluid. Developmental defects of the cranial tissues do not allow the brain to grow naturally upward - and it begins to press to the sides, distorting the face, forehead, and vaults. Deformation occurs, the development of vision, hearing, and speech is impaired. Pressure can cause seizures, headaches, and mental retardation. Neurosurgical intervention is necessary to eliminate the anomalies. During the operation, the skull is opened, disassembled into pieces, and then reassembled - but with small gaps.
