Bogdan takes a step forward every day!

Eight-year-old Bogdan flew to Moscow from the Blagoveshchensk Orphanage for treatment. Four years ago, he used a wheelchair, but several rehabilitation courses have literally restored him to his feet. Doctors aren't ruling out the possibility that the cerebral palsy he's suffered since childhood may be removed: the boy is already walking independently and continues to make progress. To ensure continued progress, Bogdan requires regular sessions with a speech therapist and a rehabilitation specialist, motor skills exercises, and massages. A nanny works with him at the Road of Life Foundation's social center. She repeats the specialists' exercises, monitors his routine, and helps him reinforce each new skill. "It's impossible not to love Bogdan; he's a child without the slightest hint of aggression or resentment. He's very obedient and diligent. He's very observant and attentive," says the nanny. For orphans undergoing long-term treatment in Moscow clinics, a nanny becomes the only adult they have close to them. She knows how the child sleeps at night, what worries him, what new skill he finally mastered today. We're raising money to pay for a nanny for Bogdan and other orphans.
