The jaw augmentation surgery for a 3–month-old baby was successful. Vanya is already at home, his health is not in danger. We thank the tubers for their support.
The child was born with micrognathia, an underdevelopment of the lower jaw. So that his tongue stuck into his throat, which could cause the baby to suffocate at any moment. Vanya was forced to stay in the hospital so that doctors could perform resuscitation procedures at any time. But there was a solution: an operation was needed to detach, that is, expand, the lower jaw with the help of special devices. And it took place.
"The operation was successful, there are already the first results – a CT scan was performed and the gap between the tongue and larynx is visible. Vanya can now breathe and eat by himself. My son was discharged from the hospital, now we will wait for the growth of new bone tissue," says Nadezhda, Vanya's mother.
At home, the baby has a good appetite and has already grown cheeks, "like a hamster." The child has learned to hold his head, grab a rattle with a clenched fist, learns to turn over from side to side and loves walking in the fresh air.
