Veronica is gaining weight and preparing for surgery

Veronica has a severe heart defect, which can be corrected with several operations. The first one was performed on the fifth day of life. For the second one, you need to gain weight, and for this, the child needs specialized nutrition and supplies for tracheostomy care. The struggle for Veronica's life began from the first seconds of her birth. The birth took place under the supervision of cardiologists. After palliative surgery, Veronica began to breathe on her own. But due to pneumonia, respiratory support was required this spring. Doctors installed a tracheostomy. Now it is important for Veronika to catch her breath and gain weight up to 10 kg in order to get to the cardiac surgeons for a second operation next year. For the first time in a long time, she is not in the hospital, but at home – next to her parents and older brother Matvey. Due to the special nutrition, he gained strength: he sits confidently, rises in the crib. The weight exceeded the mark of 8 kg. Valya learned how to take care of a tracheostomy – to make bandages and remove phlegm, to feed her daughter through a probe. Special nutrition and consumables are the key to a child's normal life. All this will be given out for free when the palliative status is available. It takes several months to complete the registration process, but parents can't last that long on their own.
